HR Resource Persons Met HR Interest Group

STI Education in collaboration with Singapore Human Resources Institute (SHRI) has been preparing to communicate Myanmar human resources personnel to principles and practices in Human Resources Management.

Last year Mr. David Ang Executive Director, SHRI was in town to orient about his institution and conducted a couple of seminars related to HR issues.

After months of preparation, STI is launching

  • Certificate in Human Resources Management (CHRM)
  • Diploma in Human Resources Management (DHRM)

Vision and mission of SHRI and STI were shared with enthusiastic HR personnel : STI has brought to the audience the renowned academicians and practitioners in Myanmar on February 28, 2010 (Sunday) at its office – No.377, Upper Shwebonthar Street, Pabedan Township from 10:00 A.M- 1:00 P.M.

Emeritus Professor Daw Hla Myint opened the event with brief presentation on “Improving corporate performance through effective HR Management”

Next speaker was Mr. Eric McKay who highlighted what SHRI and STI are jointly moving to achieve towards that end. Dr. Ohmar Myint and Daw Tin Ma Ma Soe were both alumni of Yangon Institute of Economics, the former got her doctorate from University of New Delhi specializing in HR Management, the latter with extensive knowledge in HR Management had been involved as HR Manager at City Mart, United Machinery, Scansia Myanmar L.td & many more and recently as consultant to Htoo Group of Companies, Gunkul Engineering Supply, Asia Royal Medical Centre among others.

The role of HR in an organisation, functions, Intelligent Quotient (I.Q) and Emotional Quotient (E.Q) relationships with other departments were highlighted citing from their rich experiences in the field. The audience found the seminar stimulating, informative and participated actively in the discussion.

Daw Hla Kyu winded the seminar of the day by delivering administrative details of CHRM and DHRM and accreditation process at SHRI. For the convenience of personnel who are already holding responsible positions, classes are to be held on Saturdays and Sundays.

The audience comprised of officials from Save the Children, Summit Parkview Hotel, Exotissimo Travel, MPRL, Mahar Trade and reporters from the Voice and Net Guide among many others.
