We begin this year forum with “Humanitarian Logistics” presented by STI alumni, U Wunna Htoo, who at present is a staff member of World Health Organisation. His presentation dealt with:

Distribution, Transportation, Fleet Management, Tracking and Reporting

His presentation was supplemented by World Food Program “Nargis video clip” brought by alumni Nang Shri Seng Lao. The video clip brought to light vivid scenes and dramatic humanitarian assistances.
The discussion/ reflections led by Patron U Kyaw Zaw & others include: the difficulties encountered, coordination and cooperation among NGOs and mismatch of supply and demand for assistance. The current catastrophes in Haiti and Chile were also touched.
Towards the end of April, L.I.G will undertake Corporate Social Responsibility where members will collect donations and deliver to socially disadvantaged group.
Forum (in August) will be led by Professor Daw Hla Myint and she is planning to communicate about shipping documents to Logistics Interest Group.
